Quick answer Our approach has two tracks that run together: working directly with the individual (assessment, rehab referral where needed, and ongoing 12-step-based support) and working with the family (codependency support, relapse-prevention strategy, and rebuilding trust). Support continues before, during, and well after formal treatment ends.
For the addict

Addiction is usually gradual — recovery has to be deliberate.

Addiction can happen to anyone, at any time. It's often a gradual process, and many people don't realise their life has started to revolve around a substance until it already has. Even people with legitimate prescriptions sometimes find themselves taking more than they should.

1

The first meeting

Usually a longer session, where we try to understand how deeply addiction has affected both the individual and the family around them.

2

Rehab referral, if needed

Where rehabilitation is the right next step, we can suggest appropriate facilities based on what we've learned about the individual's situation.

3

Working the 12 steps

Once rehab is complete, we work through a 12-step programme with the individual — the same process we've each applied successfully in our own lives.

4

Staying in sync

Regular meetings keep us in step with the day-to-day problems the individual is facing, so support stays relevant, not theoretical.

For family, near and dear ones

The addict is not bad, and not mad — they're unwell.

Family members are deeply affected by a loved one's addiction and the behaviour that comes with it. In our experience, the person underneath the addiction is not a bad person — they're suffering from a disease. Somewhere along the way, they missed a step and fell hard. They need to get up, clean up, and catch the bus again. That process is recovery, and its pace is different for everyone.
